Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2025
At Blinkonlink, we take your privacy seriously. This isn't just some standard document we threw together—it's actually how we handle your information. We know that when you're using financial analysis software, you're sharing sensitive data with us, and that deserves respect.
This policy explains what data we collect, why we need it, how we protect it, and what rights you have. We operate in Thailand, so we follow the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), but honestly, good data practices shouldn't depend on which country you're in.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us Directly
When you sign up for Blinkonlink or use our financial analysis tools, you share information with us. Some of this is basic contact stuff, some is more specific to what you're trying to accomplish. Here's what we typically collect:
- Your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account
- Business information if you're using our software for company analysis
- Payment details when you subscribe to our services (though we don't store full credit card numbers—more on that later)
- Financial data you upload or input into our analysis tools
- Messages you send us through support channels or contact forms
Information We Collect Automatically
Like most websites, we automatically gather some technical information when you use our platform. This helps us keep things running smoothly and figure out what's working (and what isn't). We collect:
- Device information—your browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- How you interact with our software—which features you use, how long you spend on different pages
- IP addresses and general location data (country/city level, not your exact address)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (you can control these in your browser settings)
Important note about financial data: The financial information you analyze using our tools stays in your account. We don't share it with third parties for marketing purposes, and we don't use it to train AI models or anything like that. Your numbers are your business.
How We Use Your Information
We're not in the business of collecting data just to have it. Everything we collect serves a purpose. Here's what we actually do with your information:
- Provide our services: This is the obvious one. We need your account info to let you log in, your financial data to run analyses, and your payment details to process subscriptions.
- Improve our software: We look at usage patterns to understand which features people find helpful and which ones need work. If nobody's using a particular analysis tool, that tells us something.
- Send you relevant updates: Account notifications, security alerts, new feature announcements. We try to keep these useful rather than spammy.
- Provide customer support: When you contact us with questions or problems, we need access to your account information to help you effectively.
- Meet legal obligations: Sometimes we're required by law to retain certain information or provide it to authorities. We only do this when legally necessary.
Data Retention and Storage
We don't keep your data forever. Different types of information have different retention periods based on why we need them:
Data Type | Retention Period | Reason |
---|---|---|
Account Information | Active account + 90 days after deletion | Service provision and account recovery window |
Financial Analysis Data | Active account + 30 days after deletion | Your working data that you might need to export |
Payment Records | 7 years | Thai tax law requirements |
Support Communications | 3 years | Service improvement and dispute resolution |
Usage Analytics | 18 months | Product development and optimization |
Your data is stored on secure servers located in Southeast Asia. We use industry-standard encryption both when your data is being transmitted and when it's sitting on our servers. Regular backups happen automatically, but these follow the same retention schedules.
Sharing and Disclosure
We're pretty protective of your information, but there are some situations where we share data with others. Here's the complete picture:
Service Providers
Companies that help us run Blinkonlink—payment processors, cloud hosting providers, email services. They only get the data they need to do their job, and they're contractually required to protect it.
Legal Requirements
If a court order or Thai regulatory authority requires us to provide information, we'll comply with the law. We'll notify you when possible unless legally prohibited from doing so.
Business Transfers
If Blinkonlink is acquired or merges with another company, your data would be transferred as part of that transaction. You'd be notified in advance with options for your account.
With Your Consent
If you explicitly agree to share your information for a specific purpose—like participating in a case study or connecting with a partner service—we'll do so only to the extent you've authorized.
What we DON'T do: We don't sell your personal information to data brokers. We don't share your financial analysis data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We don't use your uploaded financial documents to build competitor databases.
Your Rights and Choices
Under Thai data protection law (and just general fairness), you have several rights regarding your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to do it:
Access Your Data
You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. Log into your account and go to Settings > Data Export, or email us at [email protected]. We'll provide your data in a readable format within 30 days.
Correct Inaccurate Information
If something in your account is wrong, you can usually fix it yourself in your profile settings. For data you can't change directly, contact our support team and we'll update it within 5 business days.
Delete Your Account
You can delete your Blinkonlink account at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account. This is permanent—we can't recover your data after the deletion process completes. We keep some basic transaction records for legal compliance (like payment history for tax purposes), but all your analysis data and personal details get wiped.
Opt Out of Marketing
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it once and you're off that list. You'll still get essential account emails (password resets, billing notifications), but no promotional stuff.
Object to Processing
If you believe we're processing your data inappropriately, you can object. Contact our Data Protection Officer at [email protected] with details about your concern. We'll review it and respond within 30 days.
Data Portability
Want to move your financial analysis work to another platform? You can export your data in common formats (CSV, JSON, PDF) from your account dashboard. This includes all your uploaded documents, analysis results, and saved reports.
Security Measures
Security isn't just about technology—it's also about processes and people. Here's how we protect your information at different levels:
Technical Safeguards
- 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- AES-256 encryption for data at rest on our servers
- Regular security audits and penetration testing by third-party firms
- Automated monitoring for suspicious activity and unauthorized access attempts
- Secure password requirements with multi-factor authentication options
- Isolated database environments with restricted access protocols
Operational Security
Only employees who need access to perform their jobs can view customer data. All staff sign confidentiality agreements and receive regular privacy training. We log all access to sensitive information and review these logs regularly.
Payment Security
We use PCI DSS-compliant payment processors for all transactions. Your credit card numbers never touch our servers—payment data goes directly to our payment partner through secure, encrypted channels. We only store the last four digits of your card and expiration date for billing reference.
If there's a breach: Despite our best efforts, no system is 100% secure. If we experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours via email. We'll explain what happened, what data was involved, and what steps we're taking to address it.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to make Blinkonlink work properly and to understand how people use our software. Here's what we're actually tracking and why:
Essential Cookies
These keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and make sure the software functions correctly. Without these, Blinkonlink basically doesn't work. They're not optional, but they also don't track your behavior—they just maintain your session.
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics tools to understand which features get used, where people get confused, and how we can improve the software. This data is aggregated—we're looking at patterns across all users, not tracking individual behavior for marketing purposes.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or delete cookies when you close your browser. Keep in mind that blocking essential cookies will break the software—you won't be able to stay logged in or save your work.
International Data Transfers
Blinkonlink primarily operates in Thailand, and most of our data stays on servers in Southeast Asia. However, some of our service providers (like cloud hosting and email services) have infrastructure in other countries, including the United States and Europe.
When your data moves across borders, we ensure it's protected through appropriate safeguards: standard contractual clauses approved by data protection authorities, adequacy decisions where they exist, and requiring our partners to maintain security standards comparable to what we promise you.
If you have concerns about international transfers, contact us—we can discuss which data goes where and why.
Children's Privacy
Blinkonlink is designed for business and professional use. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years old. If we discover that we've inadvertently collected data from a minor, we'll delete it promptly.
If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account with us, please contact [email protected] so we can remove their information.
Changes to This Policy
Privacy practices evolve, laws change, and sometimes we need to update this policy. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. For minor updates (like fixing typos or clarifying existing practices), we'll just update the "Last Updated" date at the top.
You can always find the current version of this policy at blinkonlink.com/privacy-policy. If you disagree with changes we make, you can close your account before they take effect—though we hope it doesn't come to that.
Thai Data Protection Law Compliance
As a Thailand-based company, we comply with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019). This law gives Thai residents specific rights regarding their personal data, and we extend these protections to all our users regardless of location.
Under Thai law, we're required to have a legal basis for processing your personal data. For most of our activities, this basis is either:
- Contract performance—we need your data to provide the services you signed up for
- Legitimate interests—we have good business reasons to process your data, balanced against your privacy rights
- Your consent—for optional features or communications you've specifically agreed to
- Legal obligations—when Thai law requires us to retain or process certain information
If you have questions about our legal basis for processing your specific data, we're happy to explain it. Contact our Data Protection Officer for details.
